The ACSSC-UW Madison officers attended the American Cetacean Society International Conference, and had a 'whaley' good time! We learned so much, saw cetaceans in the wild, and gained new friendships! For more photos and information, please visit our Facebook page!
ACSSC-UW Madison hosted a screening of Patagonia's Artifishal at Fontana Sports with Sitka Salmon Shares. It was an awesome event with people interested and eager to learn about the fight for wild fish.
Captivity: A Multidisciplinary Approach was an expert panel discussion consisting of scientists, lawyers and activists to discuss the plight many species face in captivity. We had an extremely productive and insightful day with open dialogue and fluid conversation.
MORE TO COME!!! |
ACSSC-UW Madison members got together to paint pumpkins and watch a humpback whale documentary. Educational and fun!
The ACSSC-UW Madison chapter welcomed whale expert Jim Peckarsky to campus to give an AMAZING presentation! He has so much experience and passion for whales and was able to share with us so many pictures and videos from these times. We are so fortunate to be able to meet people like Jim through our organization!
In partnership with the Sustainability Committee's Straw Campaign, ACSSC-UW Madison purchased reusable straws to hand out on campus during Earth Week 2019.
We enjoyed volunteering for River Alliance of Wisconsin's Wild and Scenic Film Festival at The Barrymore. It was an amazing opportunity and the films were all so inspiring!
